Job summary

Palm Valley Post Acute is seeking a Cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires preparing meals in large quantities, following menus, and ensuring sanitary kitchen conditions.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience, and a ServSafe certificate. Reading procedures and recipes is essential, with PCC knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year cooking experience in hospital or long-term care.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
• Ability to read procedures, recipes, and follow schedules.
• Knowledge of PCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Ability to prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Ability to follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for meals; prepare pureed foods; supervise staff in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Maintain sanitation with sanitizer buckets; assist with serving meals and cleaning cooking areas.
