Job summary

The Huntington-Valley-Healthcare-Center seeks an experienced cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and supervise dietary staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long term care facility for not less than one year.
• Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities following prepared menus.
• Record food temperatures, prepare pureed foods, and assist with serving meals.
• Notify Administrator/Director of Nurses of resident care concerns; train dietary staff as needed.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and cooperate with other departments.
