Job summary

Bloodworks Northwest in Seattle, WA seeks a Lead-level professional to provide leadership and expert coordination in the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory. You will perform, review, and sign off on clinical testing, including emergency testing, and release official reports.

You will mentor staff, participate in policy development, and act as Supervisor in the absence of department management. Qualifications include a BS in clinical laboratory science, active CHT certification, and at least 6 years

Qualifications

• Must qualify as a General Supervisor under ASHI Standards.
• Must qualify as a General Supervisor, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA requirements.
• Bachelor of Science degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent.
• Current ACHI-Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) is required.
• CHS certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of HLA experience.
• Three years on-call rotation within the last five years is required.
• Two years of leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HLA/Immunogenetics Laboratory operations and on-call oversight.
• Review and sign off on final reports, including emergency testing.
• Provide data for virtual crossmatches and clinical consultations.
• Coach and mentor staff and participate in staff interviews and competency assessments.
• Coordinate implementation of new lab methods and equipment.
