Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks an Alliance Laboratory Testing Supervisor to lead quality improvement initiatives, coordinate proficiency testing, and ensure compliance with CLIA and CAP standards. You will guide staff through training, competency, and policy development while managing instrumentation and inventory.

This role includes leadership responsibilities in a dynamic, patient-focused research and clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or equivalent per 42CFR493.1489(b)(3).
• Medical Lab Scientist/Technologist certification with ongoing CE through ASCP/AMT/AAB.
• 4 years of lab testing experience on human samples.
• 1+ year in lead/senior tech/coordinator/supervisor role in clinical lab.
• Knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations.
• Direct/indirect leadership of lab projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lab quality improvement/QA program with monitoring and reporting of quality indicators.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating team members; document ongoing competency.
• Coordinate proficiency testing as required by accrediting bodies.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development with Testing Manager and Compliance team.
• Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed per institutional, state and federal standards.
• Oversee maintenance of instrumentation and inventories; advise on new instruments and supplies.
