Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks an experienced Clinical Histocompatibility Technologist I–III to join its histocompatibility laboratory. You will oversee high-complexity testing, review patient workups, and participate in QA/QI activities while collaborating with leadership to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a lab science, 8+ years of histocompatibility experience, and CHS/ACHI certification with ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of histocompatibility lab experience with at least 3 years in relevant immunogenetics or transplantation testing.
• Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT/ACHI) with continuing education.
• Advanced knowledge of HLA theory, ASHI standards, testing methods and allele frequencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary responsibilities of Clinical Histocompatibility Technologist I, II & III.
• Coordinate tracking, ordering, maintenance, and vendor contracts.
• Lead or assist in projects, validation, and installation of new equipment and methods.
• Review and report test results and patient workups before transplant.
• Provide training and education to residents and fellows.
