Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, seeks a Laboratory Supervisor/Lead to manage Alliance Lab Testing Services across assigned locations. You will lead personnel, maintain instrument competency, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a lab science, 4 years of lab testing experience, and a track record in leadership. Relocation is possible; a comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution or a bachelor’s degree and equivalent education and training as defined in 42 CFR 493.1489(b)(3). Must meet CLIA education requirements for a high complexity testing.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, or an equivalent certification with continued education through ASCP, AMT, or AAB.
• 4 years of laboratory experience performing testing on human samples.
• At least 1 year in a lead/senior tech/coordinator/supervisor/manager role (title verified) in a clinical lab with potential for 3 years of total lab experience in lieu of 4 years.
• Knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations.
• Demonstrated direct or indirect leadership of lab projects.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Testing Manager to manage daily operations of Alliance Lab Testing Services at assigned labs/locations.
• Oversee personnel including training, engagement, development, onboarding and offboarding; coordinate with HR on actions.
• Maintain competency on instruments/equipment and provide bench coverage during PTO or absences.
• Support lab QA/QI program; monitor quality indicators and report to QA/Integrity Committee.
• Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluations; document ongoing competency and continuing education.
• Coordinate proficiency testing as required by accrediting agencies.
• Assist in policy/procedure development and revisions with Testing Manager and Compliance teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations per institutional, state, and federal standards.
