University Hospitals is seeking an HIS Coding Educator to assure accurate inpatient and outpatient coding, assess coding accuracy, and lead educational activities across Revenue Cycle. You will review records, document results, and present findings to leadership, while guiding Coding Specialists on guidelines and data quality.

The role requires RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS/CIC/RCC/ROCC plus 5+ years ICD-10 coding experience, HIM education, and strong communication.

Formación

• 5+ years ICD-10 coding experience
• Associate's Degree preferably in HIM (Required) or Bachelor’s Degree in HIM (Preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented and organized, with good problem solving ability
• Notable client service, communication, and relationship building skills
• Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment

Responsabilidades

• Train and monitor new hires and students.
• Provide timely feedback on coding guidelines and documentation techniques and data quality improvements.
• Conduct monthly random coding quality reviews and provide feedback and training as needed.
• Identify opportunities for performance improvement and provide feedback to management.
• Demonstrate understanding of CCs/MCCs, UHDDS guidelines, HACs and PSIs.
• Assist with analysis of case mix and other statistical reports.
• Demonstrate understanding of APG, EAPG, LCDCD and CCI edits.
• Research coding errors to provide accurate guidance to support processes.
• Design and manage departmental improvement initiatives and education programs.
• Maintain up-to-date credentials and regulatory knowledge.
