Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management is required.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification is desirable or can be obtained.
• Minimum of five years of HIM coding leadership experience.
• Proficiency with encoder and electronic medical record systems; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees coding and CDI operations, audits, and staff feedback processes.
• Audits accuracy of ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding; conducts internal audits as needed.
• Reviews external DRG and clinical validation denials; reports findings and trends.
• Provides coding/CDI education and training to staff and physicians as needed.
• Ensures compliance with privacy, regulatory, and revenue cycle requirements.
