Job summary

Valleywise Health is seeking an HIM Education Specialist to train the inpatient coding team and CDI staff, delivering curriculum in person or virtually. You will develop and maintain education programs, align training with change management, and serve as a knowledge resource for end-users.

The role includes collecting data via coding quality chart reviews, presenting findings, and creating reports to support informed business decisions within the Revenue Cycle.

Qualifications

• ICD-10, ICD-10-PCS, coding and auditing experience required.
• Certification as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-P, CIC or COC.
• Experience in hospital coding education or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, education, and mentoring to the inpatient coding team and CDI staff.
• Work with business owners to plan, implement and evaluate training for change management.
• Collect data via coding quality chart reviews and deliver actionable reports.
• Provide onsite and/or virtual support and act as a knowledge resource for staff.
• Ensure compliance with government, regulatory, and coding standards.
