Kier Design is seeking a Principal Highways & Drainage Engineer to join our team across multiple locations in the UK. The role offers agile working with some home-based days.

You will lead complex highway and drainage projects, delivering safe and buildable engineering solutions within a collaborative environment. Applicants should be a Chartered engineer with extensive experience, capable of guiding multidisciplinary teams and shaping technical standards and processes for consistent quality

Qualifications

• Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CEng MICE) with significant experience.
• Experience leading complex construction engineering services with highways and drainage.
• Ability to provide technical expertise and design management across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of temporary works design and checking, focusing on highways and drainage.
• Provide tender and bid support, including outline design schemes and feasibility studies.
• Manage project leadership responsibilities, including agreeing technical requirements and overseeing design deliverables.
• Develop technical standards and design processes to ensure consistent quality of engineering output.
