Job summary

Kier Group plc is seeking an Engineer for its Design Team in the UK, focusing on highways structures maintenance and new-build schemes. The role includes producing designs, supporting delivery from feasibility to inspection, and conducting site visits across London, Birmingham, and Manchester with remote working options.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree (or HNC/HND) and is approaching Chartered status, experienced with UK standards and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering and progression toward chartered status.
• Experience in inspection, assessment, design and construction of highway structures to UK standards.
• Proficiency with design software and Eurocodes in highway design.
• Valid driving licence and occasional site visits expected.

Responsibilities

• Produce technical designs, drawings, and documentation for bridge and highway projects.
• Support Lead Engineer from feasibility to construction inspection.
• Conduct site visits and structure inspections for data collection.
• Contribute to value engineering and technical innovation.
• Mentor and support development of technicians and graduates in the team.
