Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal/Associate Director to lead drainage engineering for high-profile UK transportation projects. You will shape water and environmental solutions and guide teams from concept to detailed design.

You will manage projects, lead client relationships, and drive technical excellence while expanding WSP's drainage capabilities across the UK. This role offers hybrid working and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with degree; eligible for UK chartership.
• Extensive post-degree experience in designing sustainable drainage solutions.
• Knowledge of drainage design principles, standards, and health & safety regs.
• Experience using Civil 3D, Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage for drainage modelling.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a wide range of civil engineering projects including highway, rail, infrastructure and site schemes.
• Lead projects from concept through to completion with high technical standards and commercial success.
• Deliver drainage services for major transport and infrastructure projects in the UK.
• Lead client relationships and attend progress meetings.
• Manage a team of drainage engineers and support their development.
