Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our team, focusing on installation, modification, testing and commissioning of high voltage equipment (69kV–550kV). You will lead field assignments, supervise crews, and ensure safety and quality on site.

Opportunities include positions in multiple locations with extensive travel. The role requires strong technical skills, leadership, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Plan, execute and lead technical field assignments involving installation, modification, test, commissioning or repair of HV equipment 69kV–550kV.
• Supervise electricians and contractors on HV substation projects.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance and field tests.
• Travel up to 80% with onsite work at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service operations solving usual/unusual technical problems.
• Install and commission high voltage equipment (69kV–550kV).
• Supervise crews and coordinate with customers and Hitachi Energy.
• Document field tests, data, and maintenance actions.
• Develop recommendations and write reports for improvement.
