Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC is seeking a field-based engineer to support installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of High Voltage equipment across the Western United States. The role involves hands-on work at customer sites, ensuring safe operation and reliability of critical power infrastructure.

The position is located in Hillsboro, Oregon, with travel to customer sites across the Western US.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to operate in the United States.
• Electrical or mechanical engineering basics required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience with High Voltage substations and field testing.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to coordinate field activities with crews and customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, modification, testing, commissioning, and repair of High Voltage equipment.
• Install and commission High Voltage substation equipment.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on High Voltage equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve field issues using on-site testing.
• Document electrical field tests and generate service reports.
• Maintain detailed service logs and records.
