Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Operator Foreman to lead and operate heavy equipment on our Wisconsin projects. You will follow Mortenson safety policies, plan, organize, and direct operators according to project requirements and state and federal regulations.

You will supervise crews, ensure timekeeping accuracy, and coach teammates while maintaining equipment, safety, and productivity. This role requires hands-on leadership, clear communication, and the ability to read plans and follow pre-task

Qualifications

• Must have equipment certifications.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Valid driver's license with endorsements.
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and customer service orientation; ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to operate equipment and understand uses; basic math skills.
• Independent work with good listening and communication.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Position duties may change; not a comprehensive list.
• Lifting over 50 lbs requires assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, and roller
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work area
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards; adjust sequences to meet schedules
• Assist in scheduling and estimating worker-hour requirements; analyze and resolve problems
• Ensure crew timecards are filled out; supervise, coordinate, and direct operators
• Build relationships and coach team members; manage performance
• Perform all other duties as assigned
