Job summary

Mortenson seeks an Operator Foreman to lead and operate heavy equipment on projects in accordance with Mortenson safety policies. The role plans, organizes, and directs operators based on project and regulatory requirements.

The position requires operating diverse machinery, enforcing safety standards, coordinating with teams, and coaching operators to achieve performance goals. This role emphasizes leadership, reliability, and adherence to schedule commitments.

Qualifications

• Equipment certifications are required.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Current driver’s license with required endorsements.
• Strong teamwork orientation and good customer service.
• Ability to operate equipment and read manuals.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts, aerial lifts, roller).
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and monitor equipment for malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and adjust sequences to meet schedules.
• Assist in scheduling and estimating worker-hours; resolve issues.
• Supervise and direct operators; manage performance.
