Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Operator Foreman to oversee heavy equipment operation on our construction projects in the United States. You will plan, organize, and direct operators to meet project requirements while enforcing Mortenson safety policies.

Responsibilities include operating multiple machine types, supervising crews, and ensuring timely, safe completion of tasks. Strong safety discipline and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience in heavy equipment operations.
• Valid driver’s license with appropriate class/endorsements.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane and rollers.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean, organized job sites.
• Perform routine maintenance and monitor equipment for malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and adjust sequences to meet schedules.
• Assist in scheduling and estimating worker-hour requirements; resolve issues.
• Supervise and direct operators; manage timecards and performance.
• Lead by example, coach others, and handle diverse teams.
