Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks an Operator Foreman to lead heavy equipment operations on our Texas projects, ensuring adherence to safety policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves organizing the crew, coordinating operators, and directing work in line with project plans and schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have strong teamwork orientation with a positive attitude and customer service mindset.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment by moving levers, shifting gears, and controlling steering and pedals.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, and roller.
• Follow safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and monitor equipment operation for malfunctions.
• Align work sequences with plans and pre-task cards to meet schedules.
• Assist in scheduling and estimating worker-hours and resolve work problems.
• Supervise, coordinate, and direct operators and fill out crew timecards.
• Lead by example, provide coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
