Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Interior Design Leader to spearhead project leadership across multiple healthcare interiors, starting with Mayo Clinic on a large-scale campus. The role demands leading interior design strategies, coordinating with architecture and engineering teams, and ensuring code compliance throughout all project phases.

The candidate will mentor staff, collaborate with leadership, and contribute to marketing efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Current NCIDQ certification preferred.
• Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
• Strong design, storytelling and technical skills; knowledge of building and life-safety codes.
• Exceptional presentation, organizational, team-building, collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience leading a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the client and project team to establish goals and vision.
• Provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
• Lead design development through all project phases: pursuits to construction administration.
• Evaluate client needs and document design objectives and spatial requirements.
• Coordinate design work and code compliance with other disciplines.
• Lead the development of interior spaces and FF&E across all phases.
• Mentor junior interior design staff and promote design leadership.
• Participate in marketing activities and client interviews.
• Conduct site visits and reviews during construction administration.
