Job summary

United Airlines is seeking a Senior Manager – HCM Solutions Architect to design end-to-end Workday and related platform solutions. This leader will set standards, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure architectural integrity across HR, Payroll, and Digital Technology domains.

You will mentor SMEs, manage multi-phase projects, and translate technical concepts into business value while shaping a 3–5 year domain roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in HR Technology and solutions design (Workday Core HR, Compensation, Advanced Compensation and Security).
• 3+ years of Workday reporting experience.
• 1+ years of proven people leadership experience.
• Ability to work in a team environment or independently.
• Ability to manage projects across all phases including scope, requirements, configuration, process definition, deployment and delivery.
• Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to solve business problems using technology.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solutions across Workday and related platforms, define architectural standards and patterns, and serve as final design authority for high-impact initiatives.
• Lead architectural discovery sessions, oversee solution lifecycle, and own project-level solution governance for major initiatives.
• Evaluate cross-domain dependencies to ensure alignment across HR, Payroll, and Digital Technology.
• Provide structured project management oversight for complex domain initiatives with cross-stakeholder coordination.
• Identify architectural enhancements aligned to a 3–5-year domain roadmap and partner with HR COEs to shape priorities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor translating technical architecture into business value and ensure alignment with strategy.
• Provide people leadership through mentoring SMEs and developing next-level talent.
