Job summary

Alpha School seeks a Lead Guide to build and coach a high-performing team, not a traditional classroom. You will mentor Guides, lead life-skills workshops, and drive outstanding student experiences across multiple campuses.

The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, maintaining uncompromising standards, and supporting the launch of new campuses with relocation to major markets such as Boston, Raleigh, NYC, Orange County, or Santa Barbara.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related field; Master's preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in education, coaching, learning and development, or related leadership.
• Experience leading teams of five or more people, including hiring and termination decisions based on performance.
• Demonstrated success using data to drive performance improvements.
• Willingness to work on-site at Alpha campuses (with relocation support).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Coaching Guides to consistently deliver exceptional student experiences while maintaining Alpha's high standards.
• Leading engaging life skills workshops that develop communication, leadership, focus, and other real-world skills for K-12 students.
• Motivating students to achieve ambitious learning goals and maximize progress in their self-directed academic programs.
• Using data, observation, and coaching conversations to improve Guide performance and student outcomes.
• Helping launch and establish new Alpha campuses by building a culture centered on excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
