Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Lead Professional Electrical Engineer with an emphasis on Grid Modernization for the Richmond, VA office.

The role focuses on development and review of grid modernization solutions for distribution systems, including FLISR, Volt-Var optimization, ADMS, DER solutions, and advanced planning. The ideal candidate will lead complex grid modernization initiatives, coach teams, and collaborate with utility clients and vendors to deliver reliable, efficient, and scalable

Qualifications

7-10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design for large capital projects.
Strong command of English; written and oral communication skills to present information and lead meetings.
Ability to work across teams and take initiative to learn new topics.
PE licensure is preferred (if applicable).
Experience with grid modernization concepts and distribution systems.

Responsibilities

Lead modernization of utility distribution systems and develop study concepts and assumptions.
Coordinate with utility clients, internal teams, and vendors to deliver practical recommendations.
Build project execution frameworks to improve quality, consistency, and scalability across the practice.
Provide technical leadership and communicate insights through visualization and reporting tools.
Track schedules and budgets; support business development activities.
