Job summary

Property Appraiser of Miami-Dade County is seeking a GIS Supervisor to lead the GIS Unit, directing digital and cadastral mapping, parcel maintenance, and land records research to support Ad Valorem taxation.

The role oversees professional, technical, and clerical staff, ensures adherence to policies and GIS standards, and applies ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and SQL databases to maintain accurate property-related geospatial data for assessment and public information services.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, GIScience, Computer Science, Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering, IT or related field; OR two years of GIS-related experience.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may substitute for required education.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and manage the GIS Unit within the Property Appraiser's Office.
Direct GIS operations including digital mapping, cadastral mapping, parcel maintenance, and land records research.
Supervise professional, technical, and clerical personnel involved in GIS mapping, parcel maintenance, and related activities.
Ensure compliance with departmental policies, statutory requirements, and GIS standards.
Utilize GIS technologies (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, SQL) to support property assessment and public information services.
