Job summary

Chaves County is seeking a GIS Mapper to manage digital mapping and GIS data entry under the County assessor's direction. Responsibilities include updating parcel maps, entering data, plotting deeds, and creating shapefiles and feature classes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with five years of GIS/mapping experience.
• Substitution allows up to four years of college coursework for four years experience.
• Valid NM driver's license with good driving record.
• Associate/Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, create and update parcel property maps.
• Enter data into GIS system and maintain accurate files.
• Plot deeds and review subdivisions and surveys in GIS.
• Create shapefiles and feature classes for mapping.
• Respond to public and departmental mapping requests in a timely manner.
• Operate plotter, printer, and other output devices.
• Follow county policies and perform other duties as assigned.
