Job summary

The Geauga County Engineer seeks a Tax Map Manager to lead the Tax Map department, oversee conveyance review, and ensure compliance with County Transfer and Conveyance Standards. The role includes supervising staff, mentoring, and providing expert GIS support for mapping and parcel data.

You will coordinate with the Engineer’s Office, the County Auditor’s Office, and the County Recorder’s Office to maintain accurate tax duplicates, official addressing, and GIS maps reflecting splits and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, and/or GIS preferred.
• Five years’ experience in surveying and GIS; knowledge of Ohio land transfer law and ORC.
• Knowledge of Ohio conveyance standards; GIS and CAD; legal terminology and mapping.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Tax Map department and ensure compliance with County Standards.
• Review conveyance instruments for compliance with standards.
• Maintain digital GIS maps reflecting parcel changes and annexations.
• Serve as liaison among Engineer's Office, County Auditor’s Office, and County Recorder’s Office.
