Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Field Service/Construction Manager to lead on-site GIS installation, testing, and commissioning across the United States. You will coordinate field teams, manage safety, quality, and schedule, and serve as the on-site representative with customers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work in the United States.
• 10+ years in field service or construction management for HV equipment (69kV–550kV).
• Technical certificate or associate degree in electrical or mechanical field.
• Experience supervising erection and testing for HV substations.
• OSHA 10 training or ability to acquire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and manage on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of High Voltage GIS equipment (69kV–550kV).
• Serve as Hitachi Energy’s on-site representative to customers, subcontractors, inspectors, and local stakeholders.
• Supervise field teams and subcontractors to support quality, productivity, schedule, and safe work execution.
• Oversee adherence to drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Perform and document field testing, including SF6 leak detection, gas analysis, timing, power factor, and contact resistance testing.
• Conduct inspections to determine maintenance needs and required repairs, supporting resource planning decisions.
• Plan and participate in on-site progress meetings and coordinate daily field activities.
• Prepare clear, accurate field documentation, reports, and project records.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
