Job summary

WSP seeks a Lead Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to join our US Mine Waste team in Tucson, AZ, with locations in Tempe, Reno, or Elko. You will guide mine waste geotechnical design, manage projects, and lead multi-disciplinary teams on challenging mining and heavy civil works.

Qualifications include a Civil/Geotechnical engineering degree, 7–10 years of experience, and an engineering license. Proficiency with MicroStation/AutoCAD/Civil 3D and related tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• 7–10 years of post-education geotechnical design experience.
• Engineer license required.
• Experience with tailings management and heap leach facility design.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
• Client liaison and business development skills.
• Ability to manage projects and track hours/expenses.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design of mine waste containment and heap leach facilities.
• Manage geotechnical projects including field and lab investigations.
• Perform stability, seepage, thermal and deposition analyses.
• Deliver high-quality reports on time and within budget.
• Support client relationships and business development.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and mentor juniors.
• Stay current with geotechnical methods and software.
