Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Civil/Geotechnical Engineer in Tucson, AZ to work on mining, heavy civil, and geotechnical projects with our US Mine Waste Team. You will perform site characterization, facility design, and stability analyses while collaborating with engineers, planners, and scientists across a regional team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with 4+ years of post-education experience and an FE exam in progress or completed within 6 months.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and at least 4+ years of post-education experience.
  • Successful completion of the FE exam or ability to complete within 6 months of start date.
  • Strong analytical and engineering calculation skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; capable of working in remote settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site and material characterization for mining and geotechnical projects.
  • Design facilities including grading, storage capacity, and construction quantities.
  • Analyze slope stability, seepage, consolidation, liner systems, and settlements.
  • Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations and analyses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work and prepare cost estimates.
