Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Lead Generator Specialist for its Electrical and Mechanical Labs. You will develop test methods, improve maintenance programs, and mentor the team to ensure high quality lab output, reliability, and safety.

You’ll work on complex high-current and high-voltage test scenarios and contribute to product development and quality improvements. The role requires strong experience with generator testing and maintenance, and you will report to the Senior Manager – NJC

Qualifications

• Three+ years in generator specialist or field services.
• Three+ years in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or generator drive maintenance.
• Strong understanding of generators, controls, protection, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on short-circuit generators and drive systems.
• Develop maintenance and assessment strategies for stators, rotors, windings, insulation, controls.
• Troubleshoot generator issues and collaborate to improve solutions.
• Conduct electrical and mechanical testing (RSO, DLRO, ELCID, hi-pot, tan-delta).
• Set up testing equipment and ensure safety.
• Collect and analyze test data; prepare reports and conclusions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety rules.
• Mentor team members and drive process improvements in the lab.
• Write specifications, requirements, test plans, design docs, and training materials.
• Identify opportunities to enhance test methods and equipment.
