Job summary

Aramark in Richmond, VA is seeking a Lead General Utility Worker to oversee the cleanliness of front and back of house facilities. You may supervise or delegate tasks to utility staff to meet client requirements.

This role emphasizes safety, sanitation, and efficient operation of dishwashing areas. Training and guiding staff, and reporting equipment issues to management are core duties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in a similar role.
• Ability to exercise considerable judgment based on experience to solve problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• May act as an informal resource for those with less experience.
• Extensive knowledge of proper use and cleaning techniques for kitchen equipment including steamers, ovens, mixers, grills, and dishwashing equipment.
• Thorough understanding of basic sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Trains and guides utility staff on duties and proper safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, equipment, and kitchen utensils.
• Maintains and cleans a dishwashing station, three compartment sink, storerooms, refrigerators, and related areas.
• Ensures equipment is clean and in working condition; reports any issues to management.
• Performs other light maintenance and custodial tasks.
• Maintains excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation.
