Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated’s Ellis Park Racing & Gaming location seeks a Lead Gaming Attendant to guide a team on the gaming floor, greet guests, enforce rules, and ensure smooth operations. You’ll train new attendants, resolve guest issues, maintain compliance with Kentucky Gaming Commission, handle cash accurately, and coordinate with security and maintenance to keep the floor safe and inviting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Prior experience as a Gaming Attendant or in a customer service–focused role preferred.
• Experience in a gaming or regulated environment is a plus.
• Must obtain and maintain all required gaming licenses or certifications as mandated by local or state authorities (Kentucky).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a lead resource on the gaming floor, providing direction and support to Gaming Attendants during shifts.
• Assist with onboarding and on-the-job training of new Gaming Attendants.
• Act as a point of escalation for guest service issues or operational concerns.
• Model professional behavior, compliance, and exceptional customer service at all times.
• Work closely with Gaming Attendants, security, and hospitality teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate staffing needs, guest concerns, or operational challenges to supervisors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support gaming operations.
• Greet patrons, explain game rules and machine operations, and address inquiries to enhance the guest experience.
• Promote responsible gaming and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Regularly inspect machines and coordinate with technicians for issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized gaming floor and assist with routine maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with Kentucky Gaming Commission regulations and company policies.
