Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to oversee the NBA platform's orchestration and state machine, built in Node.js/TypeScript on Temporal. You will lead a pod, write code, and ensure durable, observable action delivery at enterprise scale across member engagement channels.

You will design workflows, own delivery pipelines, and drive architecture decisions while collaborating with activation systems and the platform team. This is a remote/hybrid role with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant area
• 6+ years of full stack software engineering experience, with 1–2 years in a tech-lead capacity
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript backend experience
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration platforms, Temporal preferred
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals, including event-driven architectures and retries
• Experience designing Kafka producer/consumer patterns in production
• Experience building reliable event delivery systems using Transactional Outbox
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small pod and be accountable for technical outcomes
• Experience operating cloud-native systems on Azure or equivalent with Kubernetes/CI/CD
• Clear communicator able to represent architecture and delivery status to stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery for orchestration pod: planning, execution, quality, and shipping on time
• Design and build durable, long-running workflows on Temporal in Node.js/TypeScript
• Own end-to-end action delivery pipeline from decision publication through activation and delivery acknowledgment
• Own components that activate decisions to Adobe Experience Platform and publish through Kafka
• Contribute code alongside the team: Temporal workflows, Node.js services, Kafka producers/consumers
• Make day-to-day architecture decisions for the pod: retries, idempotency, API contracts
• Engineer for correctness in a highly asynchronous environment with durable state and safe retries
• Establish monitoring, tracing, alerting, and operational visibility
• Manage and mentor engineers; perform code reviews and remove blockers
• Coordinate cross-team interfaces and surface dependencies early
