Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer to own the NBA platform's orchestration and state machine, built in Node.js/TypeScript on Temporal, delivering durable workflows, long‑running journeys, and reliable action delivery across member channels.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role: you write code, lead a small team, and are accountable end‑to‑end for durability, observability, and timely action delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a relevant field.
• 6+ years of full stack software engineering with 1–2 years in a tech‑lead capacity.
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript backend experience building production services.
• Hands‑on experience with durable workflow orchestration (Temporal preferred).
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals (event‑driven architectures, retries, idempotency).
• Experience designing Kafka producer/consumer patterns in production.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery for the orchestration pod, including planning and shipping.
• Design durable workflows on Temporal modelling the action lifecycle and delivery outcomes.
• Own the action delivery pipeline from decision publication to delivery acknowledgement.
• Manage activation integrations to Adobe Experience Platform and Kafka outputs.
• Contribute code alongside the team (Temporal workflows, Node.js services, Kafka).
• Make day‑to‑day architecture decisions and ensure reliability and observability.
• Lead a small pod of engineers and coordinate with cross‑team interfaces.
