Job summary

Humana is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer for Platform Quality and Reliability in the Boston area. You will be a hands-on contributor driving uptime, performance, and resilience while implementing robust testing and observability.

The role emphasizes shipping production-ready code rather than building new features, and involves coordinating with cross-functional pods. You will guide quality gates, mentor contractors, and ensure scalability as member and data volumes grow, across a polyglot

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
• 6+ years of full stack software engineering experience with focus on platform reliability or SRE preferred.
• Hands-on experience building and owning testing infrastructure across unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Strong understanding of observability: structured logging, tracing, metrics and alerting.
• Proven ability to lead a pod or small team and manage contractor resources.
• Proficiency with a polyglot stack: Java, Python, Node.js, TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Own uptime, performance, and resilience across NBA platform services; identify bottlenecks before incidents.
• Actively write and ship production code; hands-on contributor.
• Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure and standards.
• Own logging, monitoring, and alerting to provide production visibility.
• Design and enforce error handling across distributed services.
• Lead scalability efforts as member volume grows.
• Define quality gates for handoff from delivery to production.
