Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Lead Engineer, Applications Development to lead design and hands‑on development of customer‑facing web apps, microservices, and RESTful APIs. You will translate business requirements into detailed designs and drive projects from design to deployment.

You will mentor engineers, review code, and promote best practices while delivering full‑stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in software development with at least 8 years in Java and Spring.
• Proven full‑stack experience building web apps, services, microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience leading technical projects, code reviews, mentoring engineers.
• Experience troubleshooting production applications and collaborating with support teams.
• Practical experience applying AI/Generative AI in software engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and hands‑on development of customer‑facing web apps and RESTful services.
• Translate requirements into detailed designs and drive projects end‑to‑end.
• Guide junior engineers, review code, and promote software‑engineering best practices.
• Develop full‑stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Coordinate releases across teams in different geographies and time zones.
• Participate in Agile planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and testing activities.
• Apply AI/Generative AI to improve code quality, defect reduction, and productivity.
• Explore LLMs/RAG and AI‑enabled capabilities in production applications.
