Job summary

TransUnion Consumer Interactive (TUCI) is seeking aLead Engineer, Applications Development to lead design and hands-on development of customer-facing web applications, Java-based backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs. You will translate business requirements into detailed designs, drive projects from design to production, and mentor junior engineers.

You will remain active in coding while guiding teams, collaborating with cross-functional groups, and applying AI/Generative AI

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience, incl. 8+ years with Java/Spring
• Full-stack engineering experience with web apps, backend services, microservices, RESTful APIs
• Experience leading technical projects, code reviews, mentoring
• Production support experience, debugging frontend and backend components
• Practical experience applying AI/Generative AI in software engineering environments

Responsibilities

• Lead design and hands-on development of customer-facing web apps, Java backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs
• Translate requirements into detailed designs and drive projects from design to implementation
• Guide junior engineers, review code, promote best practices
• Develop and support full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
• Coordinate releases and technical changes across geographies
• Participate in Agile planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and testing
• Explore AI/Large Language Models and AI-enabled capabilities in production apps
