Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Lead Engineer, Applications Development, to join an established team delivering customer-facing web apps and backend services. You will design, develop, and mentor across Java/Spring, RESTful APIs, and AI-assisted development in a hybrid US-based role.

The position requires 10+ years of software experience, strong Java/Spring expertise, and a track record leading technical projects. Expect collaboration across US and India with cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years hands-on Java/Spring experience; design and coding required.
• Proven track record delivering web apps, backend services, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.
• Hands-on production support and issue troubleshooting in distributed environments.
• Practical exposure to AI/Generative AI in software development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and hands-on development of customer-facing web apps and microservices.
• Translate requirements into detailed designs; drive projects end-to-end from design to implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers; perform code reviews and promote best practices.
• Develop full-stack solutions using Java, Spring, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Coordinate releases across geographically distributed teams; participate in Agile ceremonies.
• Explore AI-enabled capabilities and integrate AI tools into production applications.
