Job summary

TransUnion LLC is seeking a Lead Engineer, Applications Development to lead design and hands-on development of customer-facing web apps and backend services. You will mentor engineers, drive project delivery, and apply AI techniques to improve code quality and efficiency.

The role combines hands-on coding with architectural leadership in a hybrid work setting, requiring strong Java/Spring expertise and collaboration across teams in the US and India.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software-development experience, incl. 8+ years in Java/Spring ecosystem
• Full-stack engineering experience building web apps, backend services, microservices, RESTful APIs
• Proven experience leading technical projects, code reviews, and mentoring engineers
• Experience supporting production apps, troubleshooting frontend and backend components
• Practical experience applying AI/Generative AI to improve development efficiency

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and hands-on development of customer-facing web apps, Java-based backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs
• Translate requirements into detailed designs and drive projects from design to implementation
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and perform code reviews
• Develop and support full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Coordinate releases and technical changes across geographically distributed teams
• Participate in Agile planning, stand-ups, and continuous improvement
