Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Finishing Inspector Lead to support quality operations across two finishing lines.

You will inspect carpet, make grading decisions, and guide inspectors to uphold quality standards, moving between lines to provide real-time support and address off-quality issues. The role requires coordinating with quality and supervision, documenting findings, and ensuring proper handling of products.

Responsibilities

• Make informed grading decisions based on established quality standards.
• Assist inspectors on both lines with difficult calls or uncertain grading situations.
• Provide on-the-spot training and feedback to support consistent inspection and grading practices.
• Communicate with quality, supervisors, operators, and other team members to ensure proper handling of product.
• Document inspection findings and assist in tracking trends or recurring quality issues.
• Assign proper hold codes for defects noticed and escalate off-quality downgrades.
• Notify supervisor of issues and coordinate with responsible party in a timely manner.
• Observe carpet defects on inspection table, including tufting, yarn, and backing defects.
