Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Dyeing/Kuster Inspector Clerk to monitor carpet quality from the dyeing and kuster stage. The role runs Monday through Friday, 3pm–11pm, with responsibilities to inspect for defects, document results, and report production data in Shopflex.

Qualifications

• Manual dexterity required to handle carpet rolls and operate equipment.
• Good problem solving and attention to detail for defect detection.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into systems.
• Strong communication to report issues clearly to supervision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect carpet for defects and record results.
• Obtain shade patch for supervisor review.
• Enter roll and ticket information in the Shopflex system.
• Report quality problems to the Supervisor.
• Enter and track production data through Shopflex.
• Fill out inspection reports and records.
• Complete department Stop Cards for line stops.
• Monitor width and dampness; communicate issues.
• Determine changeover length for removal and input accordingly.
• Measure carpet width and log results in Shopflex.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
