Job summary

Segra is seeking a qualified Construction Technician for Charlottesville/Waynesboro VA to join our full-time team. The role will oversee on-site construction activities and supervise field crews, ensuring work aligns with schedule, customer requirements, and Segra standards.

The Construction Technician will plan, implement, and oversee multiple sites, reporting progress to the Construction Manager to ensure timely project completion. Expect a 24x7 on-call rotation and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 2 years of fiber, Telecommunications, ROW, or relevant construction experience.
• Ability to effectively lead a crew to complete tasks per schedule and budget.
• Excellent understanding of construction and permitting prints.
• Assist in monitoring inventory usage during construction.
• Identify and troubleshoot construction problems and offer safe solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Some travel will be expected (overnight and daily).
• Basic experience using Microsoft Excel formulations, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site construction activities and supervise field contractors.
• Plan, implement and supervise construction efforts at several sites.
• Report field progress to Construction Manager/Project Manager to meet timelines.
• Ensure construction quality and adherence to Segra standards.
• Be on 24x7 on-call rotation as part of the team.
