Job summary

Segra is seeking a qualified Construction Technician to manage on-site construction activities in Charlottesville/Waynesboro VA. The role focuses on supervising field crews, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring quality and schedule adherence.

You will plan and oversee multiple work sites, report progress to the Construction/Project Manager, and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations. A 2-year construction background and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years of fiber, Telecommunications, ROW, or relevant construction experience.
• Ability to effectively lead a crew to the completion of and in conformance with schedule, customer requirements and budget guidelines.
• Excellent understanding of construction and permitting prints.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting inventory/material usage during construction cycle.
• Assist with the identification and troubleshooting of construction problems and offer timely and safe solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good planning and organization skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Some travel will be expected, both overnight and daily travel
• Basic experience using Microsoft Excel formulations, Word, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities on the worksite and supervise contractors in the field.
• Plan, implement, and oversee construction efforts at several work sites within designated market.
• Report field progress to Construction/Project Manager to meet timeline and parameters.
• Ensure quality of construction activities and adherence to company standards.
• Be on-call 24x7 on a rotational basis.
