Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks a Field Technician III to lead crews, perform advanced testing and maintenance on substation equipment, and troubleshoot complex systems. The role emphasizes safety, coordination with engineers, and on-site problem solving.

You will drive test execution, support commissioning activities, review results, and mentor junior staff while traveling as needed to customer sites across North America.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years in electrical testing/maintenance field.
• NETA III certification required.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic tech or related.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring PPE usage and safe work practices.
• Lead safety briefings, identify hazards, and implement mitigation measures.
• Lead field testing, inspection, and maintenance of LV/MV/HV equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues using schematics and diagrams.
• Direct repair, replacement, and maintenance activities to restore equipment functionality.
• Support installation and commissioning activities, including functional testing.
• Review test results and document discrepancies for corrective action.
• Coordinate daily field activities with engineers and other crews.
• Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices.
