ACRT, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to identify and evaluate trees along utility corridors, prepare inspection results with recommendations, and coordinate line-clearance crews. The role emphasizes independent work across a geographic area and strong client interaction.

The position requires a 2-year forestry-related degree or equivalent experience, GIS/Office skills, and a valid driver’s license. Competitive benefits and ESOP offered; travel and varied weather are expected.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or related field.
• Vegetation management experience preferred
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred but not required
• Self-motivated, organized, production oriented
• Comfortable working independently and managing a geographical area for vegetation activities
• Able to work with stakeholders, utility customers and line clearance vendors with strong interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-tasking and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines.
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations.
• Plan and coordinate activities of assigned line-clearance crews.
• Discuss and negotiate crew access issues with stakeholders.
• Serve as liaison between clients, crews, and customer representatives
