Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) based in Texas. The role requires extensive MV/HV testing experience and certification, with up to 75% travel to regional/national projects.

Compensation up to $95/hour plus bonus opportunities and full benefits, including company vehicle and per diem. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and testing, analyze results, and prepare detailed engineering reports.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with listed test equipment and ability to interpret test results.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
