Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) in Texas to lead high voltage power system testing on regional and national projects. Travel up to 75% is required, with full-time employment and compensation up to $95/hour plus OT and bonuses.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification in good standing
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards
• Proficiency with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF)
• Ability to read/interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
• Valid driver's license with clean record
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems/equipment up to 500 kV
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based)
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements
