Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV. You will analyze test results, prepare engineering reports, and mentor technicians in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires regional/national travel up to 75% and a strong background in medium/high voltage testing, with compensation up to $95/hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification (current and in good standing).
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and P&IDs.
• Proficiency with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers and switchgear.
