Job summary
Salesforce seeks a Principal Federal Compliance & Security Architect to lead the technical authority for our federal platform footprint. You will define vision, bridge compliance directives with cloud engineering, and secure FedRAMP High/IL5 authorizations across AWS GovCloud and Azure Government.
You will partner with Engineering and Product leadership to set architectural standards, perform governance reviews, and drive risk-informed decision making while communicating complex security
Qualifications
- >> 12+ years in security architecture or cloud engineering
- >> 5+ years leading federal compliance initiatives (FedRAMP IL5/Moderate, DoD IL5)
- >> Principal Architect experience with cross-org alignment
- >> Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, RMF, FIPS 140-2/140-3
- >> Experience with 3PAO assessments and federal authorization cycles
- >> Exceptional written and verbal communication for executives and regulators
- >> Certifications preferred: CISSP, CCSP, CISM
Responsibilities
- Establish architectural standards for federal platforms ensuring high availability and IL5/DoD authorizations.
- Perform governance reviews and risk mitigation planning across enterprise initiatives.
- Create reusable design frameworks and compliant-by-default guidance for engineering teams.
- Evaluate emerging cloud patterns, balancing velocity with security and compliance mandates.
- Author architecture specifications, SSPs, and portfolio strategy documents for leadership.
