Job summary

Salesforce seeks a Principal Federal Compliance & Security Architect to lead security Architecture for our federal platform footprint in Washington, DC. You will translate FedRAMP High and DoD IL5 requirements into scalable cloud designs across AWS GovCloud or Azure Government and align them with engineering and product leadership.

Responsibilities include governance reviews, SSP creation, risk mitigation, and guiding cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

12+ years of experience in security architecture, cloud engineering, or systems design.
5+ years leading federal compliance initiatives (FedRAMP Moderate/High, DoD IL5).
Experience as a Principal Architect driving cross-organizational alignment and roadmaps.
Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, RMF, FIPS DoD SRG requirements for cloud platforms.
Experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government architecture.
Certifications such as CISSP/CCSP/CISM preferred.

Responsibilities

Define architectural standards and governance for federal platforms; ensure compliant, high-availability designs.
Translate federal requirements into scalable cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud and Azure Government.
Drive end-to-end compliance across the platform lifecycle; refine monitoring frameworks and security tooling.
Engage with senior leaders, customers, 3PAOs, and sponsoring agencies; communicate security strategy clearly.
Coach and mentor architects and engineers on security best practices and systemic problem-solving.
