Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Lead Manufacturing Engineer – Fabrication Manufacturing Readiness to drive design-for-manufacturability and producibility for complex aerospace components. You will lead readiness from concept through production, focusing on fabrication processes and supplier/GE shop collaboration to deliver on quality, safety, and cost targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline (Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace).
  • 3+ years in manufacturing engineering within fabrication, preferably aerospace or regulated industry.
  • Proven leadership of manufacturing readiness projects for new product introductions.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (CNC, sheet metal forming, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX, CATIA, Mastercam).
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies applied.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing readiness for fabrication processes from concept to production launch.
  • Collaborate with design, supply chain, and quality to ensure DFM/DFA.
  • Develop robust manufacturing plans including process flow, tooling, and layouts.
  • Lead technical reviews on fabrication capabilities and best practices.
  • Conduct process capability studies and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify advanced manufacturing technologies and automation to reduce costs.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets for readiness activities.
  • Mentor junior engineers and manufacturing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Travel to support manufacturing sites and suppliers.
